My Journey
My journey as a black woman, a survivor of childhood sexual assault, a professional basketball athlete, an advocate and member of the LBGTQ+ community has provided refuge to stretch, disrupt, and tell my story. These collective experiences have empowered me to be a voice and beacon for others on how to deal with trauma, fear, insecurities and empathy, while being vulnerable and creating a safe haven for empowering untapped communities through storytelling and self-publishing.
Native of Southside Chicago, I was raised by a village of strong, beautiful, black women. Their values on love, compassion, and grace molded me into the multi-faceted woman that I’ve become today. Continuing my thirteenth year journey as an international athlete, basketball has created a release from my childhood trauma. It has served as an avenue to explore my wildest dreams of traversing the globe, while enthralled in the complexities of culture and conflict in over 60 countries the game of basketball has taken me. These experiences alone have culminated in my creative journey and road travelled.
